The Santee Wateree Regional Transportation Authority is offering a free two-day bus service to and from Santee Lake to Summerland County. Every month, the Gamecock County Gazette will email you a new edition of its monthly calendar of local events and events. These tests are free and are open to all ages, genders, races, ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, gender identities, ages and sexual orientation. Columbia, the state capital, is about 45 miles west, Charleston is about 100 miles south, and the capital cities of Colombia are about 45 miles west. SWRTA will continue to offer flights to Colombia, but on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. For those who need to travel to Colombia and return to Sumter, the service will be available on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 5: 30 p.m. to 7: 45 p.m. and on weekends and holidays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., 10 a.m. to 11: 50 a.m., 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The school district has received nationwide recognition for producing students who receive high scholarship awards annually and for hiring award-winning teachers and administrators. The area includes more than 1,000 elementary, middle and high school students and many award-winning private institutions, including Columbia University, the University of South Carolina and the College of Charleston, as well as many private colleges and universities.

English settlers, this part of the state began to attract English settlers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries during the Civil War.
